Saturday will be a day to remember for fans in Stillwater, Oklahoma, for more reasons than one.
The unranked Oklahoma State Cowboys pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season when they held on to beat No. 6 Oregon 39-31 at home.
Jubilant fans stormed the field after the win over the Ducks and celebrated by tearing down the goalposts and carrying them all the way to Theta Pond.
This was all captured on video and was posted by the OSU Football account – showing the moment the uprights went into the drink.
But such a celebration will cost the Cowboys, according to Front Office Sports, as the Big XII is set to fine the school for their celebration.
The bylaws of the conference list a standard fine for field storming at $50,000, according to the outlet.

But, as it was pointed out by Kevin Skiver of USA Today, the conference ‘has been fairly inconsistent’ in its enforcement of the rule.
Last season, Arizona State was fined for storming the field – but Colorado had their fine rescinded.
As Skiver wrote: ‘There seems to be a case-by-case nature to the conference’s application of the rule, specifically around whether teams follow safety procedures before storming the field.’
Fans rushing the field shouldn’t come as a surprise considering this was one of the biggest wins in recent history for the Cowboys.
The Ducks entered Stillwater as national title contenders as quarterback Dante Moore was considered one of the top prospects in this year’s NFL Draft.
But Oregon couldn’t repeat their 69-3 victory from last year as the team struggled mightily in the first half.
OSU out-gained Oregon 554-281 in total yardage and benefitted from a 96-yard pick six to seal the deal.
Oregon tumbled mightily in this week’s Coaches Poll, sliding 12 spots from No. 6 to No. 18.
