Femi Azeez Gets Nod From Brighton’s Coach To Confront Awoniyi, Onyeka On Sunday

Brighton & Hove Albion FC of England summer signing, Femi Azeez, has received the nod from his coach to make his debut with The Seagulls this weekend in the English Premier League.

Sports247 reports that the nod from Brighton’s gaffer, Fabian Hurzeler, means Azeez is on course to confront two of his Super Eagles teammates, Taiwo Awoniyi and Frank Onyeka of Coventry City.

The opportunity to face Awoniyi and Onyeka on the opposite side of the pitch comes Azeez’s way after Hurzeler disclosed that the attacker has recovered from a hamstring injury that has sidelined him since he arrived from lower-division outfit Millwall.

The mulatto hitman, who previously played for Reading, had eagerly looked forward to his Brington debut ever since he made a late switch from Millwall on transfer deadline day.

However, an injury he copped during his farewell game in the Championship delayed Azeez’s first appearance for the former club of Leon Aderemi Balogun, who currently have Super Falcons’ goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie in their female squad.

Consequently, fans of the Nigerian striker will be relieved to hear Hurzeler state that the 25-year-old Azeez is nearing full fitness and could be available for this weekend’s fixture versus Coventry City.

“I hope he will be an option. He will definitely train with the squad, and hopefully everything is fine. Then he hopefully is an option for the weekend,” Hurzeler enthused.

Sports247 reports further that Azeez will aim for victory against the newcomers, while hoping to make the best of his debut for Brighton, who drew 1-1 with Leeds United last weekend, and have won only one of three EPL games this season.
