Millwall of England midfielder, Femi Azeez is at the centre of a deal that could see him playing alongside Super Eagles’ centre back, Semi Ajayi this season at Hull City, as The Tigers have made a move for the mulatto lad from their former Championship rivals.
Sports247 reports that Azeez had an oustanding campaign with The Lions last season in the lower division, thereby catching the eye of many clubs, among which happens to be Hull, who gained promotion back to the English Premier League at the end of the campaign.
One of Hull’s standout players was Ajayi, who also had an elevated status with Nigeria’s national team, and could be ready to play the role of mentor for Azeez, who twinkled bright during his debut for the Super Eagles, with two well struck goals at the 2026 Unity Cup in London.
The in-form dazzler, whose full name is Oluwafemi Javier Azeez Beloso, who previously played for Watford, Northwood, Wealdstone, Hanwell Town, Reading and Bracknell Town, will now hope to hook the biggest deal of his carreer, then go on to star alongside Ajayi in th EPL.
Azeez will also aim to keep alive the Nigerian tradition at Hull City, which previously had former Super Eagles’ captain, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha as well as Seyi George Olofinjana, Omatsone ‘Sone’ Akluko, Ola Aina, Dele Adebola, Hope Akpan and David Akinola.
A report by UK’s Sun Sports reveals, “Hull City are in pole position to complete a swoop for Millwall winger, Femi Azeez. The Tigers have stolen a march on their rivals as they race to lure the South London star to the big time before the transfer window slams shut.
“Millwall have already knocked back a record transfer bid for the wide man – an offer that eclipsed the £14.5m fee they received when Romain Esse moved to Crystal Palace. Lions chiefs know it will be extremely difficult to now retain their talisman, despite standing firm so far.
“Azeez, 25, established himself as one of the Championship‘s most lethal attacking outlets last season, racking up an impressive 11 goals and 7 assists across all competitions. His terrifying pace and output from the wing made him a top performer and triggered intense interest across the top flight.”
Sports247 reports further that Azeez, who was born to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother in England, where he grew up in Northwood, got his Super Eagles’ debut debut on May 26th this year in the first match of the Unity Cup, in which he scored both goals of a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe.
