FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Enzo Fernandez, Lamine Camara and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Chelsea confirm Chavarria signing
Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano after many weeks of negotiations.
Chavarria had been identified as Xabi Alonso’s ideal target to replace Marc Cucurella after the left-back joined Real Madrid in June and a breakthrough was made earlier this month, with an initial fee of €19 million agreed plus an additional €2m in add-ons.
The 28-year-old has now been confirmed as Chelsea’s tenth new arrival of the summer on a five-year deal until 2031.
“I’m so excited to get started,’ Chavarria said. “This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is a big opportunity but I am prepared and will work hard to help the team achieve success.
Blues consider Camara deal
Chelsea and Manchester United are set to battle it out for a new target that has been compared to Aurelien Tchouameni after a club-record offer was rejected for the midfielder.
According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace have had a club-record €50 million bid turned down by Monaco, which has led to Chelsea and United weighing up their own move for the 22-year-old.
Camara has been a standout midfielder in Ligue 1 and is said to be ready to leave Monaco this summer after a strong 2026 World Cup with Senegal, with clubs seeing him as a player immediately capable of making an impact in the Premier League.
Chelsea and United are said to have had Camara on their shortlist for some time and have done extensive work on the youngster, with both sides now weighing up the situation.
Mheuka set for new deal and loan
Chelsea are set to hand academy striker Shim Mheuka a new long-term contract before loaning the youngster out this season.
Mheuka has already made nine senior appearances in all competition for the Blues and the 18-year-old is considered one of the brightest prospects at the Cobham academy.
Chelsea are now set to agree terms over a new contract until 2033 for Mheuka before the Premier League 2 Player of the Season is loaned out, with teams in the Championship and across Europe interested.
There remains a question over how any deal is structured, reflecting the competition for places at Chelsea and the high regard in which the club hold him.
Adarabioyo interest emerging
Chelsea have received interest from Benfica and at least one Premier League side in defender Tosin Adarabioyo, according to the BBC.
Adarabioyo has two years left on his contract and has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, raising doubts over his future at the club.
Chelsea are keen to sell defenders and offers for the 28-year-old are being considered, although Adarabioyo is said to prefer to stay in West London.
However, the player is thought to be keen on exploring all opportunities, including a reunion with his former Fulham boss Marco Silva at Benfica, although no deal is close as of yet.
City take interest in Blues duo
Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca is keen to reunite with two of his former Chelsea stars in Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Maresca has already expressed an interest in defender Malo Gusto and approaches for Fernandez and Neto could soon follow, although Chelsea’s asking price for both could prove prohibitive.
FootballTransfers understands that Fernandez has already agreed personal terms with City, but Chelsea are understood to be demanding £120m (€140.4m) for the midfielder.
Neto is also wanted by City but Chelsea are demanding a strong fee for the winger, having seen the prices being asked for player such as Bradley Barcola.
