After weeks of speculation, LIV Golf has officially informed its players that the season finale in Michigan has been canceled. It appears, however, this has not been relayed to the ticket sales department.
Reports at the end of July hinted that the LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship was set to be scrapped, denying the 13 teams playing on the rebel circuit the chance to compete for the $40million prize.
According to The Telegraph, that decision is now official as players have been told the event is now off.
While an official announcement has not yet taken place, the outlet reports that Fox has removed the tournament from its TV listing and no infrastructure had been built at the course set to hold the event: The Cardinal at Saint John’s.
This means that next week’s tournament, LIV Golf Indiana, will be the final event of the 2026 season for LIV Golf after the Saudi Public Investment Fund announced it would no longer be funding the rebel circuit after this season’s conclusion.
Despite the information being relayed to the players, emails from LIV Golf continued to advertise ticket sales for the Michigan event.
James Corrigan of The Telegraph posted a screenshot of said promotional email with the subject line ‘Get your tickets for Aramco LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship 2026 – Grounds before they’re gone!’
LIV Golf has informed its players that the $40m Team Championship has been canceled

However, it appears the rebel tour is continuing to advertise ticket sales to the Michigan event

The future of LIV remains uncertain after the Saudi PIF announced they were backing out
Comments underneath Corrigan’s post claim LIV Golf doesn’t show the Michigan event on their schedule anymore, however, users could still purchase tickets if they click on the link sent through the email.
It’s yet another cancellation made in the wake of the PIF’s pullout. Back in June, LIV Golf Louisiana was canceled.
This comes at a time where the future of the breakaway circuit continues to be shrouded in uncertainty.
Scott O’Neil, the chief executive of LIV, revealed last week that an investor had been lined up to fund the league’s operations in 2027.
However, the identity of said investor has not been officially revealed and no agreements appear to have been signed.
Reports indicate that the deals hinge on keeping golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm in the roster.
The conclusion of the season now remains a mystery. It’s not clear how the team race will be decided at the Indiana event, with players telling The Telegraph that they ‘remain in the dark’ on how a winner will be determined and whether the $40million in team prizes will be distributed.
