Amid the ongoing legal disputes surrounding Pan African Towers (PAT), responses from staff members have drawn attention to the workplace culture and employee-focused initiatives associated with the tenure of the company’s former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Azeez Amida.
The staff perspectives were contained in responses to an internal memorandum circulated within the organisation and made available to our reporter.

The responses, which focused on aspects of the company’s workplace environment during Amida’s tenure, highlighted staff welfare, team bonding, employee engagement and the importance placed on maintaining a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life.
According to the staff responses, Amida encouraged employees to participate in welfare and social activities designed to strengthen relationships among colleagues and promote a sense of belonging within the organisation.
Some of the staff members also referenced team outings and regular workplace gatherings as initiatives that helped create opportunities for employees to interact outside their routine professional responsibilities.
The responses further indicated that attention was given to creating what employees regarded as a comfortable and respectful working environment, while encouraging staff to identify with the company’s growth and contribute to its broader objectives.
The staff accounts offer a different perspective on Amida’s tenure at a time when Pan African Towers is involved in legal disputes concerning issues relating to the company’s ownership, governance and management.
The various court proceedings have generated competing claims by parties involved in the disputes, with the courts expected to determine the issues based on evidence presented before them.
However, the internal memorandum responses provide an insight into how some employees viewed the former CEO’s approach to staff relations and workplace engagement.
One recurring theme in the responses was the importance of maintaining strong interpersonal relationships among employees. Staff members pointed to social interaction and team-building activities as part of the efforts that contributed to workplace cohesion.
The responses also portrayed work-life balance as an issue that received attention during the period, with employees encouraged to combine professional commitment with their personal and family responsibilities.
For some staff members, such initiatives went beyond recreational activities, as they provided opportunities to strengthen teamwork and improve communication among colleagues.
The responses also suggested that employees were encouraged to take pride in their association with Pan African Towers and to see their individual contributions as part of the company’s wider growth objectives.
While the internal accounts represent the perspectives of staff members and do not constitute an independent assessment of the company’s overall management, they add another dimension to the public discussion surrounding Amida’s tenure.
