CBS put $18m-a-year NFL analyst Tony Romo on LEAVE in stunning decision after his drunk driving arrest

Tony Romo has been placed on leave ‘until further notice’ by CBS Sports in the wake of his shocking arrest for drunk driving.ย

The 46-year-old former Dallas Cowboys quarterback – who is paid $18m a year by the TV network – was arrested for operating while intoxicated in Milwaukee last week.

Humiliating police bodycam footage has since been released of him failing multiple sobriety tests, and CBS execs have now made the bombshell decision to take him off the air.

In a statement on Friday, a spokesperson for the channel said: ‘Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice.’

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, JJ Watt will replace Romo and work alongside lead play-caller Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson ‘for the time being’.
