Bournemouth’s pre-season plans have been rocked after striker Eli Junior Kroupi was ruled out for at least three months following surgery on a broken metatarsal.
The 20-year-old suffered a fracture to a fifth metatarsal during training camp in Austria and flew back to England ahead of undergoing surgery on Wednesday.
Kroupi had been attracting transfer attention from numerous clubs this summer with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Manchester City among his many admirers.
However, Bournemouth have maintained throughout that he is not for sale.
Similarly, they have done the same with Chelsea and Manchester United target Alex Scott as they try to maintain a competitive squad for new coach Marco Rose.
Kroupi took the Premier League by storm last season after joining from Lorient. He scored 13 goals, the highest number scored by a teenager in a debut season in Premier League history, surpassing the previous record held by Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have confirmed Patrick Eibenberger will join Roseβs backroom staff ahead of the new season as first-team coach.
Eibenberger leaves his role at RB Leipzig and reunites with Rose, having previously worked with him at Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach and Red Bull Salzburg.
Marco Kurth, assistant head coach, Frank Geideck, assistant coach, Fabian Friedrich, technical coach, and Frederic De Boever, goalkeeping coach, had already been confirmed as part of Roseβs staff.
