A student of Covenant Ambassador College, Okpeki, Emmanuel Oluwadamilare Komolafe has set his mind on getting a spot in Lagos State’s boys’ volleyball squad to the upcoming 1st National Intermediate Games.
Sports247 reports that, with The Centre of Excellence set to host the maiden edition of the multi-sports young talents’ gathering from October 1st to 15th this year, Komolafe believes he will be ready to feature for the host’s contingent.

Komolafe disclosed in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that he is banking on the experience he gained as a two-time member of the state’s junior squad to the National Youth Games and he is now ready to step up.
Having featured in the junior ranks for Team Lagos, Komolafe is of a strong view that he should be considered for the next level, especially as he has elevated the quality of his game and he now plays with more maturity.
He thanked his coach, former female national team key player, Ekanem Yellow-Duke for helping him get better in the game with daily drills at CorePlay Volleyball Academy of Abesan Estate, and wants to reward her effort with a medal at the forthcoming Intermediate Games.
Komolafe disclosed further, “I started playing volleyball in 2021, when I joined CorePlay with my younger brother, Jeremiah, and my friend, Opeyemi.
“I was later privileged to be invited by Lagos State to play for their under-15 team at the 2023 National Youth Games in Delta State, but I could not go for the next one in 2024 because I got injured during training.
“I am happy that I was able to recover from the injury, and now I’m hoping to play for Lagos State when they host the first National Intermediate Games in October. That will help me continue my hope of going far in volleyball.”
