Spanish outfit Valencia are weighing up a move for Nigerian striker Josh Maja following his departure from Sky Bet Championship club West Bromwich Albion, Completesports.com reports.
Maja is currently available on a free transfer after his contract with the Baggies expired at the end of the 2025/26 season, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their attack without paying a transfer fee.
The 27-year-old is understood to be on Valencia’s shortlist as manager Carlos Corberán seeks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
Corberán knows the striker well from their time together at West Bromwich Albion, where he helped Maja rediscover his goalscoring form before injuries disrupted the Nigerian’s progress.

Despite spending a lengthy spell on the sidelines last season, Maja still demonstrated his quality whenever he featured and remains highly rated for his intelligent movement, finishing ability and composure in front of goal.
The former Sunderland forward joined West Brom from French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux in 2023 and went on to establish himself as one of the club’s key attacking players.
Maja also spent on time on loan at Fulham and Stoke City
Valencia are expected to face competition from a number of clubs across England and Europe for the signature of the forward, who is keen to return to action after becoming a free agent this summer.
