The 2026 summer transfer window is already in full swing and business is expected to ramp up after the conclusion of the World Cup last week, with the focus now turning to the upcoming new season.
So far this summer, several world-renowned stars have already secured big-money transfers, and the window is expected to heat up over the coming weeks amid possible moves for Michael Olise, Julian Alvarez and Yan Diomande.
Tottenham Hotspur have spent the most money of any club in world football so far this summer, with the north London outfit reacting to consecutive 17th-placed finishes with the signings of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka for a combined €267 million.
Arsenal, their north London rivals, have signed Piero Hincapie on a permanent deal, following his loan spell at the club last season, and Illan Meslier on a free transfer from Leeds United. The Gunners have also agreed a deal to sign Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, but they have missed out on the aforementioned Rogers, who has joined Chelsea for €138m.
Rogers has become the latest player to move to Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Blues having previously added Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner to Xabi Alonso’s squad. Meanwhile, they have sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, Andrey Santos to Manchester United and Tyrique George to Everton. Youngsters Jesse Derry and Harrison Murray-Campbell have been sent on loan to Sporting CP and KV Kortrijk respectively.
Manchester City have signed Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson for a club-record fee, Mathys Detourbet from Troyes, Jeremy Monga from Leicester City and Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday in Enzo Maresca’s first window in charge. Man Utd, meanwhile, have purchased Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow, Tynan Thompson and the aforementioned Santos.
Liverpool have strengthened Andoni Iraola’s options with the signings of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz and Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet.
Away from the Premier League, Barcelona have signed Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon for €80m, and their El Clasico rivals Real Madrid have purchased Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries.
Bayern Munich have completed a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown and AC Milan have signed PSG centre forward Goncalo Ramos for €74m.
