Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met a delegation from the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) on Thursday, in the presence of the Director General of General Intelligence Service Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
The CISSA delegation congratulated al-Burhan on the government’s resumption of its work from the capital, Khartoum, and praised the Sudanese state’s efforts to restore security and stability and return state institutions to operating from the capital, the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.
The delegation expressed its full solidarity with Sudan and its support for the government’s efforts to confront the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), stressing the importance of strengthening security and stability.
During the meeting, al-Burhan reviewed the latest developments in the country, the government’s efforts to restore security and stability, and its vision for the next phase. He also discussed strengthening cooperation with African intelligence and security agencies.
The meeting also covered a number of issues of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between Sudan and the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) in support of security and stability in Sudan and across the African continent.
