Brighton & Hove Albion Ladies of England goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has raised the ante ahead of her outing with Nigeria’s female national team at this year’s Women’s African Cup of Nations, as she says they cannot afford to stumble at any point during the competition.
Sports247 reports that the three-time African Women’s Goalkeeper of The Year will once again step out as Nigeria’s first choice at WAFCON 2026, where she and her colleagues will target a record-extending 11th continental title, but the net minder admitted it will not come easy.

With the countdown now on towards the championship in Morrocco, where Nigeria will open their campaign on July 28th versus debuting Malawi, Nnadozie reckoned that it would be wrong to underrate any opponent, and the former Paris FC of France shot-stopper reasoned that the Super Falcons must hit the ground running.
Nnadozie further told thenff.com that the Falcons will take one match at a time, as they compete in Group C against Egypt, Zambia and Malawi at the 14th WAFCON, which is scheduled for July 26th to August 16th, in Rabat and Casablanca, with 16 countries competiting for the first time.
“We will take it one match at a time, because we cannot afford to stumble at any stage as a result of over-confidence. We will be focused squarely on the double targets of FIFA World Cup ticket and retaining the trophy.
“I don’t share the belief that any group is tougher than the others. Right now, in Africa, there are no longer minnows. There will be a lot of surprises in this tournament as the so-called small teams will be keen to prove they are no pushovers. All teams deserve respect and must be taken seriously.”
