President Donald Trump has notified Congress that the US is at war with Iran once again and launched fresh military action in the region.
A new wave of strikes is taking place less than a week after Trump declared the peace deal ceasefire, which was supposed to give both sides a year to negotiate a lasting peace, was ‘over’.
The President has reportedly told CNN this evening: “We’re going to take out Pickaxe Mountain. Tell the Iranians we’re coming.”
The President has also claimed the Strait of Hormuz ‘will remain open, with or without Iran’ by installing a blockade on Iranian ships or their customers. He added a 20 per cent fee on ‘all cargo shipped, for any and all costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security to this very volatile section of the world’.
