Mohsen Rezaei, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, said the Strait of Hormuz is one of Iran’s most important strategic assets, describing it as “more important than dozens of nuclear bombs.”
Rezaei said the waterway serves as a powerful strategic deterrent and plays a central role in safeguarding Iran’s security and national interests.
“The Strait of Hormuz is more important than dozens of nuclear bombs,” he said, adding that Iran would continue to protect it.
Commenting on recent regional tensions, Rezaei accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump of crossing what he described as Iran’s “red lines.”
He asserted that they “must receive an appropriate response.”
Rezaei also argued that, under international law, Iran has the right to take what he described as appropriate measures in response to the assassination of the country’s late Supreme Leader.
