Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports Development, Senator Ned Nwoko, has applauded the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the progress made on the ongoing FIFA Forward Project 2.0, describing it as a significant investment in the future of Nigerian football.

Nwoko made the remarks during an inspection of the NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel and the newly constructed training pitches at the federation’s headquarters in Abuja.
“The FIFA Forward Project will transform Nigerian football. These facilities will improve player welfare and provide a better environment for football development,” Nwoko said.
The senator expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the infrastructure projects, noting that modern facilities are essential for the growth and competitiveness of Nigerian football.
He also commended the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation for prioritising projects that will have long-term benefits for the country’s football ecosystem.
“Sports deserve greater national attention because investing in infrastructure is investing in the future of Nigerian athletes and the development of the game,” he added.
The FIFA Forward Project includes a national team hostel and modern training pitches aimed at improving the preparation and welfare of Nigeria’s various national teams.
Nwoko expressed optimism that the facilities would enhance football development across the country and further strengthen Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s leading football nations.
