Arsenal could be priced out of a move for Morgan Rogers so football.london looks at three potential alternative left-wing signings
The transfer window is throwing up some seriously big fees for players leaving the likes of Arsenal, pressured to spend bigger than they would have hoped for key targets. Elliot Anderson’s move to Manchester City and Mateus Fernandes’ move to Tottenham Hotspur, respectively, are the main culprits.
Now with a keenness on Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola for the left flank, the Gunners have been told that both could cost more than the fee City will be paying Nottingham Forest for Anderson. With a desire to strengthen in multiple areas this summer, sporting director Andrea Berta is dealing with multiple potential moves.
With that in mind, football.london has a look at the potential alternative options. With several players on the market this summer, it could be a deal is doable for a far less expensive option.

Christos Tzolis
football.london understands that Christos Tzolis is already of interest to Arsenal, and any potential deal is considered separate from interest in Barcola and Rogers. However, were Gabriel Martinelli to stay and Tzolis come in, perhaps instead money is redirected elsewhere into a move for a Junior Kroupi, for example, who would be an option more centrally with potential to operate out wide too.
Tzolis has been fantastic for Club Brugge. He ended the last campaign with 51 goal contributions across all competitions in 52 games, in numbers reflecting those of Viktor Gyokeres while at Sporting CP.
Similarly with the Swede, however, there is an obvious concern. The question will linger whether Tzolis can translate his output as effectively to the Premier League.
Mika Godts
The Belgian did not make the squad for the World Cup, but this came as a surprise to many after Mika Godts’ incredible season for Ajax. 32 goal contributions for a 21-year-old across all competitions, including 17 goals.
Many fans have since become more familiar with the left winger, as his dazzling skills and technical ability combine well with electric pace to make him pop on the field. Like Tzolis, there will be question marks whether he can take a big step up to the Premier League, and despite likely being available for less, Ajax can be notorious for driving a hard bargain.
Kerim Alajbegovic
The last name will likely be the least well-known, unless you’ve been watching Bosnia & Herzegovina’s matches at the World Cup. The 18-year-old scored a screamer of an effort against Qatar, which set up their clash with the United States.
He returned to Bayer Leverkusen in this very window after the German club activated a buy-back clause after selling him initially to Red Bull Salzburg. He scored 13 goals and got four assists, and has now taken his exploits to the biggest stage of all.
He even picked up an assist against Aston Villa in the group stage, a narrow 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the Europa League. He is definitely one to watch for the future, but potentially the here and now for The Gunners.
