Huge Chavarria valuation
Rayo Vallecano have quoted Chelsea a whopping €50m price for Pep Chavarria, AS writes.
Xabi Alonso has requested that the Blues sign a specialist left-back to replace Marc Cucurella. Terms with Chavarria are already in place as the 28-year-old is keen to join.
Reports have claimed that Chelsea have proposed fees in the region of €9m and €15m, but Rayo have rebuffed both. They do not want to sell and are pointing to Chavarria’s €50m release clause because he only signed a new contract until 2030 last month.
Fernandez agent confirms Chelsea exit desire
Javier Pastore, Enzo Fernandez’s agent, has confirmed that his client is “looking at possibilities to leave Chelsea” before the end of the 2026 summer transfer window.
“He’s only thinking about [the World Cup] and we’re looking at possibilities for him to leave Chelsea, but there’s nothing firm or confirmed with any club,” Pastore told MARCA.
When asked specifically about Real Madrid, Pastore added: “He has many friends there, and he’s very good friends with Julian Alvarez, and in the end, they spend all their free time together there. And I’m also living in Madrid.
“Every time he travelled, it was to see me and to sort out work matters, but besides that: who doesn’t love Madrid? I didn’t even play in Madrid… I even live there.”
Desailly urges Xhaka signing
Former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly has urged the club to back new boss Xabi Alonso in the transfer market this summer by finalising a deal for Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka.
“Look, I always say for Chelsea now that any player who is going to be signed by the club has to be the first choice of Alonso. Definitely. It’s non-negotiable,” Desially told FootballTransfers, on behalf of SportsCasting.com.“For Alonso to be able to build his philosophy, he needs to have the players he wants around him.”
Desailly continued: “When you talk about wingers at Chelsea, there are… I will not name them, you can guess who I’m talking about, some players that have been signed who haven’t been part of the managers philosophy. Successful football clubs let their managers sign the players – all they have to do is look across town and see the success that Arsenal have had.
“If Alonso really wants Granit Xhaka because he thinks he has something special, why not give him the player?”
Jackson offered Chelsea return path
Chelsea will offer Nicolas Jackson an opportunity to prove himself to Xabi Alonso and rescue his career at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Jackson is set to return to Chelsea imminently after Senegal’s World Cup exit on Wednesday and Daily Mail reporter Kieran Gill has confirmed the club’s plan for their forward.
It had been anticipated that Jackson would be sold this summer after being loaned out to Bayern Munich last year amid a fall out with the club.
However, Gill has insisted that, although transfer offers will be considered, Alonso and Chelsea will assess Jackson before making any decisions, with his loan to Bayern only coming due to a fall out with previous boss Enzo Maresca.
