Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has become known for working on several deals simultaneously since joining the Gunners last year after leaving Atletico Madrid
Arsenal are reportedly working on six transfers barely a fortnight into the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have already completed the permanent signing of Piero Hincapie, and there is an expectation that their business will accelerate during July. This summer’s strategy is being led by sporting director Andrea Berta and head of scouting Maurizio Micheli.
football.london understands that Arsenal’s season ending at the latest possible opportunity because of their involvement in the Champions League final, combined with the ongoing World Cup, have contributed to their lack of additions so far. However, the work is said to be well underway already.

The Daily Mail highlight that there is precedent under Berta for parallel negotiations over several deals. They mention that in reference to the Gunners reportedly discussing Morgan Rogers and being ready to test how much Paris Saint-Germain really want to hold onto Bradley Barcola.
football.london understands that Arsenal are interested in both players, as well as Bruno Guimaraes, who they have reportedly bid for. The club are similarly said to have enquired about Alex Scott and spoken to the representatives of Kerim Alajbegovic.
Christos Tzolis, who they are said to have been offered, is another player Arsenal have a genuine interest in. The Mail claims that Mikel Arteta’s side want around four players to improve their Premier League-winning squad.
Of those half a dozen players, Alajbegovic, Barcola, Guimaraes and Rogers are still representing their national teams at the World Cup. Scott also trained with England before the tournament began, while Tzolis featured for Greece in two friendlies early last month.
As for the players themselves, either Barcola or Rogers would be a potential marquee wide-forward signing. Alajbegovic and Tzolis, meanwhile, are more affordable prospects on the flanks.
Guimaraes and Scott also appear interchangeable as central midfield options alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. Martin Zubimendi increasingly fell out of favour under the manager during the final few months of last season.
Arteta challenged the club to improve even further following their Champions League final defeat. The manager said: “We will start the process to review what we’ve done.
“If you want to reach another level, we’re going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it demands to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”
He also added: “We need to do better, to improve and find different margins to get the outcome.”
