The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a bumper new long-term deal with the north London club
Roberto De Zerbi believes Antonin Kinsky will become one of the best goalkeepers in Europe after the Czech put pen to paper on a new contract with Tottenham.
The 23-year-old has signed a bumper new deal, believed to be a six-year contract, after playing a huge role in saving Spurs from relegation last season. With Guglielmo Vicario expected to depart the club this summer, Kinsky is set to become the main man between the sticks for the north London club next season under De Zerbi with new arrival Martin Dubravka as his number two.
With his ability on the ball with his feet and his remarkable shot stopping, Kinsky swiftly put a Champions League nightmare in Madrid behind him to star when he came in for Vicario, who was recovering from hernia surgery, for the final seven games of the Premier League campaign.
Now he has earned a new contract with the north London outfit and De Zerbi has high hopes for the Czech international.
“Toni was outstanding over the final seven games of the season and a key part of what we achieved in that period. I am delighted he has committed his future to the club. He has earned this new contract, not only with his performances but also his professionalism and desire to improve,” said the Italian.
“We have huge belief in what Toni can become. He is still young, has enormous potential and I know that Spurs is the perfect place for him to continue to develop into one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.”

On his new contract, Kinsky added: “I’m so happy and I can feel the trust from the club. When I joined 18 months ago, my expectations were to fight for my place in the team and to wear this shirt every week. It’s been a real journey to get here and a nice story already, and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead over the next months and years.
“Everyone around the club feels that we can have a successful season and I want to contribute to that. We want to give the fans what they want and what this club deserves.”
Tottenham’s sporting director Johan Lange believes Kinsky is simply reinforcing what the club first saw in him when they scouted him.
“From the moment we identified Toni as a target, we were convinced he had the qualities, character and mentality to become an important player for this club,” said the Dane. “We have been delighted with the way he has adapted over the past 18 months, both on and off the pitch, and this new contract reflects our confidence in his continued development.
“Toni has an outstanding work ethic, a strong desire to improve and the attributes required to perform at the highest level. Securing his long-term future is an important step for us and we are excited to see him fulfil the potential we believe he possesses.”
