15 games, one win, -235 points differential, there’s no other way to frame St George Illawarra’s season other than a complete disaster.
Along with their one win, they have managed a measly six points so far this year as they prop up the NRL table.
The Dragons’ lastest loss came when they let a 10-6 half-time lead slip against the Raiders on Sunday.
And according to Fox Sports analyst Luke Keary, if the Red V are unable to pick up even a draw before the end of the season they could receive the most humiliating title.
‘We’re on worst team of all time watch here. Newcastle Knights 2016: one win, one draw. That’s one to watch for the rest of the season,’ the former Sydney Rooster said.
‘One for the absolute purists that game. That was tough. It’s hard to sum that game up.’

Despite scrapping for a half-time lead against Canberra, things became all-too familiar in the second period of the game.
They had just a 75 percent completion rate, eight errors and 11 missed tackles, handing the initiative to the Raiders.
Even in elements of their game that the Dragons could take heart from, came with their own set of issues.
They were able to gain great field position on a number of occasions having made 40 tackles in the Raiders’ red zone, but they failed to pick up a single point from that great field position.
It is hard to say that the Raiders game presented St George Illawarra with their best chance to win a game, given they have still won five more games than the Red V.
But Canberra wasn’t exactly lighting up the game, with Simi Sasagi the only real standout performer, carrying 24 times for 198 metres.
Although Dragons coach Dean Young expressed frustration some refereeing decisions, he put the loss down to lack of execution from his side in the key moments.
‘I’m just disappointed for the boys with the effort they’ve put in. Our preparation for the last month has been really good and that’s put us into a position to win footy games,’ he said.
‘I thought the effort and style of footy that we want to play is right there. But our execution today wasn’t where it needed to be. I thought we left 18 points out there and gifted them 12.
‘The execution is on us, we’ve got to own that. But I’m very disappointed on a couple of the bunker calls.’
The Dragons only win so far this season came over the sputtering Brisbane Broncos, who themselves are having a horror season.

Their best chance to pick up any sort of result will follow what are sure to be two daunting tasks.
First they will take on the Wests Tigers, who are desperate to snap a two game losing streak.
And then comes the first-placed New Zealand Warriors, who have been in imperious form this year.
Then comes their big opportunity, against the Gold Coast Titans, who have managed just four wins this season.
That may be their best opportunity for the rest of the season to avoid being tagged as the worst NRL team ever.
