Como have reached a full agreement to re-sign Nico Paz on a permanent deal from Real Madrid, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Argentina international, who is yet to feature at the 2026 World Cup, has spent the past two seasons at Como, and after an impressive stint in Serie A, Real Madrid opted to trigger their €9 million buy-back clause this summer.
However, in an unprecedented move, Cesc Fabregas’ side have now finalised fresh permanent terms to re-purchase Paz from Real Madrid.
Paz registered 21 goal contributions in 40 games across all competitions last campaign, guiding Como to the Champions League for the first time in their history, and it’s understood that he was keen to remain at the club due to the competition for places at Real Madrid.
Los Blancos already have Arda Guler, Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz and new signing Bernardo Silva as attacking midfield options and Jose Mourinho has allowed Como to re-sign Paz, as per Romano.
The transfer expert posted on X: “EXCLUSIVE: Como agree deal with Real Madrid to buy Nico Paz on permanent move, here we go!
“Agreement reached as Como will re-buy Nico Paz from Real Madrid. Nico wanted to stay at Como. Real Madrid will keep control on Nico and maintain buy-back clause”

Paz, 21, will return to Como following his participation at the World Cup, although a return to Real Madrid could well take place in the future due to Los Blancos’ new buy-back clause.
It remains to be seen how much Como have agreed to sign Paz on a permanent deal, but rumours had indicated that Real Madrid were asking for a fee of €60m to sell the Argentina starlet this summer.
Paz will become Como’s third signing of the summer so far, after Alvaro Morata and Andres Cuenca, while he could be joined by Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who has emerged as a key target for the Serie A side.
