Nick Griggs finished eighth in the final of the 5000m in the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
In a thrilling finish, the race was won by Jakob Ingebrigtsen with a time of 13:15.29, his fourth title in a row, in what was his first race of the season.
Grigs finished with a time of 13.21, with Brian Fay in 14th and Darragh McElhinney finishing further back in 19th despite a promising start to the race.
In the women’s 100m hurdles, Sarah Lavin finished sixth in her heat as she failed to advance to the semi-finals.
She finished with a time of 13.07, with a time of 13.01 needed to qualify.
Ciara Neville’s 100m campaign came to an end as she finished eighth in the semi-finals with a time of 11.57.
