Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran has set her sights on returning to Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after earning a recall to the national team.

Imuran, who missed out on the squad that lifted the 2025 WAFCON title, admitted she is determined to force her way back into coach Justin Madugu’s plans.
“I’m hoping this return means I’m being considered for the next WAFCON,” Imuran said.
The defender acknowledged the competition for places in the Super Falcons squad but insisted she is ready to fight for her position.
According to Imuran, wearing the national colours remains one of her biggest ambitions and she is prepared to do everything possible to earn another opportunity.
“I’ll keep working hard to regain my place,” she added.
The left-back said her immediate focus is to impress whenever she gets the chance, whether in training or during matches.
Imuran believes consistency and hard work will improve her chances of making the final squad for the continental championship.
“I just want the coaches to consider me when the time comes,” she stated.
The Super Falcons continue preparations for upcoming international assignments as competition for places intensifies across the squad.
Imuran’s return adds further competition to the team’s defensive options as the coaching crew begins building towards the defence of Nigeria’s continental title.
