Arsenal ‘step up’ £60m transfer move as Sandro Tonali update emerges

Arsenal have a busy summer transfer window ahead with Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi emerging as a potential target alongside Sandro Tonali

Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their efforts to try and sign Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi. The Gunners are currently gearing up for the start of the new Premier League season, but will first have to navigate the uncertainty that comes with the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta’s side are already being linked with a host of potential new signings at Arsenal, as they look to defend their league title next term.

Bouaddi’s future has been the subject of intense speculation for some time, and now there has been an update claiming that Arsenal may have an interest in the 18-year-old midfielder.

According to Sky Sports, the Gunners are expressing an interest in signing Bouaddi and have been exploring a potential deal to sign the teenager for several months.

However, it has been reported that Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running to try and sign Bouaddi, with the midfielder supposedly preferring a move to the Parc des Princes.

The report goes on to claim that Arsenal still have belief they can challenge PSG for the midfielder’s signature, with Lille said to value the player at around €70million (£60million), and the Gunners will apparently hold further talks to try and sign Bouaddi after the World Cup.

Arsenal are reported to hold a good relationship with Lille president Olivier Letang, which could give the Gunners a potential advantage in a deal to sign Bouaddi.

It remains to be seen what deals Arsenal will complete this summer, with a host of players already of interest to the Gunners. The report also claims that Newcastle star Sandro Tonali remains a target for the Gunners.

The forward line is an area of the squad that is seeing the majority of the speculation so far, with Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi and Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers both linked with a move to Arsenal.

Reports also emerged on Friday claiming that Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal this summer.

The Greece international enjoyed an impressive couple of seasons in Belgium, scoring 43 goals across all competitions, not to mention, he also found the back of the net 23 times during his single campaign at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

However, the Athletic claim that a potential move for Tzolis would not impact Arsenal’s quest to sign Rogers from Villa this summer.
