Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer transfer window
There is plenty of speculation over Arsenal’s transfer plans ahead of next Monday’s official opening of the summer window.
Manager Mikel Arteta indicated after last month’s Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain that the club must be proactive in the coming months.
Everything co-chairman Josh Kroenke and external reports have said suggests that will be the case, with the 2025/26 Premier League champions set to invest around £250million once again this summer on new talent as they bid to retain their crown next season.

The World Cup 2026, which features 15 Arsenal players, will unfold in the background as the club scours the market for opportunities between now and August 16, when they face Manchester City in the Community Shield.
Several outgoings are expected in addition to talents being brought in, the most notable being a left winger. football.london now looks at two of the most recent transfer developments concerning the English champions.
Nico Williams interest reignited
Arsenal have reportedly revived their pursuit of Athletic Club winger Nico Williams. The Spain international signed a remarkable 10-year contract with the La Liga side last year which took his release clause to €90million (£78m).
But TEAMtalk reports that the north Londoners view Williams as one of their top attacking targets this summer. The 23-year-old has remained on Arsenal’s shortlist since the summer of 2024, with their interest still strong despite his underwhelming form this season.
Williams is reportedly weighing up his future ahead of what could prove a pivotal summer, during which he’ll feature in Spain’s World Cup bid. Sources close to the player have reportedly informed Arsenal and other interested clubs that he would be open to testing himself in the Premier League if presented with the right opportunity.
This development comes after Juventus rejected Arsenal’s approach for Kenan Yildiz, while Barcelona landed another Gunners target in Anthony Gordon. These setbacks could see Arsenal concentrate their efforts entirely on securing Williams’ services.
Youngster rejects new deal
Goalkeeper Alexei Rojas is set to leave Arsenal after rejecting a new contract with the club. The 20-year-old shot-stopper was listed by the Gunners as being among the 15 players from the youth team, first team or women’s team to be moving on after June 30.
That is despite the Premier League publishing a full list of retained players across all 20 top-flight sides, which confirmed Rojas had been offered a new contract – news that emerged in his homeland Colombia around a week ago.
Rojas’ exit comes as little surprise considering he only made a handful of appearances for Arsenal’s U21s. That said, he was included in the Arsenal first-team squad back in November when they secured a 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague in the Champions League group stage.
