US President Donald Trump says he has cancelled planned US strikes on Iran after discussions were allegedly approved by Iran’s top leadership and a number of regional states.
“Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as President of the United States of America, cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The announcement comes amid ongoing negotiations over a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran, though there has been no immediate response from Iranian officials.
