Nasarawa Amazons In Control
Nasarawa Amazons climbed to the top of the Nigeria Women Football League , NWFL, Super Six playoffs table after edging defending champions Bayelsa Queens 2-1 in a thrilling Matchday Two encounter in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Both sides created several scoring opportunities in a fiercely contested first half but failed to find the breakthrough before the interval.
Bayelsa Queens eventually took the lead six minutes into the second half, with Chiamaka Ezekwugo finding the back of the net.
Nasarawa Amazons, however, staged a dramatic late comeback to secure all three points.
Farikikyen Moses drew the Lafia-based side level in the 80th minute before Ayatsea Hembafan struck deep into stoppage time to complete the turnaround and seal a memorable victory for Christopher Danjuma’s team.
Nasarawa Amazons have six points from two games.
Abia Angels Stun Rivers Angels
Debutants Abia Angels stunned former champions Rivers Angels 1-0 to move to second position on the table.

Winner David netted the winning goal for Abia Angels in the 26th minute of the keenly contested encounter.
A resolute defensive performance, backed by a string of superb saves from the goalkeeper, enabled Abia Angels to withstand sustained pressure and keep their opponents at bay.
Edo Queens Put On A Show
2024 champions Edo Queens recorded the biggest win of the day, cruising to a 4-1 victory over FC Robo Queens.
Moses Aduku’s side took firm control of the contest in the first half, with Chioma Moses scoring twice to put them in a commanding position.
Edo Queens continued to dominate after the break, and Precious Oscar added a third just before the hour mark.
Mary Mamudu then made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute to further underline the Benin City club’s superiority.
FC Robo Queens grabbed a consolation late on, with Florence Godwin Freda reducing the deficit four minutes from time.
