Mikel Arteta is set for a huge summer of transfer decisions with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers among those being targeted by Arsenal
Arsenal have got the green light to sign Morgan Rogers with the £127million-rated star open to leaving Aston Villa ahead of the 2026/27 season. Mikel Arteta’s side look set for an ambitious summer with the Gunners interested in the England international and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi, football.london understands.
The latter has enjoyed a superb breakout season for the Cherries while Rogers has again been an ever-present under Unai Emery and looks set to start as England’s no.10 at the World Cup ahead of Jude Bellingham.
Bringing in both players is certainly possible but would likely cost around £160m with each player worth half that figure. However, £80m could be viewed as quite the bargain for Rogers considering he is deemed to be worth a minimum of £109.7m and maximum of £127m by CIES Football Observatory in their estimated transfer values tool.
After grabbing 14 goals and 12 assists in the 2025/26 campaign, it is perhaps no surprise he could cost into the triple-figures with over 4,500 minutes across 55 games also showcasing his superb availability.

He would undoubtedly raise the ceiling of Arsenal’s attack with his versatility to play off the left or centrally a trait that Arteta will admire.
Having played such a huge role in Villa’s top-five finish and Europa League victory, there is a feeling at the club that this summer is the right time for him to move on with Rogers echoing that stance, according to The Athletic.
It has also been stated that there is a belief that now is the best time to extract maximum value. With Villa and Rogers on the same page, Arsenal could be set for some straightforward negotiations to get the deal done.
The Gunners are not the only club looking at Rogers though, with Manchester United, Chelsea and former club Manchester City interested in signing the 23-year-old.
With mass change at all three of those clubs, Arsenal are likely to be favourites for Rogers’ signature especially following their Premier League title victory.
Some marquee attacking additions will be important to Arteta and Co. this summer but there are other priorities as well. It is understood that there is an eagerness to also bring in a midfielder and full back.
Player sales could play a role in that with Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson among those that could join Jakub Kiwior in being sold with the Poland international signing for Porto.
Contract extensions for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber also firmly on the agenda while there is also confidence that Arteta will agree fresh terms.
