Head coach Eric Chelle welcomed the early arrivals on Monday as preparations gathered momentum for the encounter scheduled to take place at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw.
Although 18 players are currently in camp, only 16 took part in the team’s first training session on Monday evening as the coaching crew continues to monitor the arrival and fitness status of the remaining squad members.
Among the players already in Warsaw are goalkeepers Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho, and Arthur Okonkwo, alongside experienced campaigners Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Frank Onyeka, Semi Ajayi, and Paul Onuachu.
Also present are Raphael Onyedika, Terem Moffi, Akor Adams, Rafiu Durosinmi, Zaidu Sanusi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Igho Ogbu, Emmanuel Fernandez, Tochukwu Nnadi, and newly invited defender Abdullahi Ibrahim.
The friendly against Poland forms part of Nigeria’s summer international programme and offers Chelle another opportunity to assess his squad ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
The Super Eagles head into the match in positive spirits following their recent Unity Cup triumph in London, where they defeated Jamaica to lift the trophy.
Nigeria will face Poland on Wednesday, June 3, at the PGE Narodowy Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45 pm Nigerian time.
