Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie endured a difficult afternoon at Wembley Stadium as Manchester City thrashed Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0 to win the Women’s FA Cup and complete a historic domestic double.

The Nigerian shot-stopper, who had enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with Brighton, was unable to prevent the Women’s Super League champions from adding the FA Cup to the league title they secured earlier this month.
In front of 43,917 fans at Wembley, Manchester City broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Jamaican striker Khadija Shaw rose above Nnadozie to head home the opening goal.
The Seagulls’ resistance was further weakened deep into first-half stoppage time when captain Alex Greenwood curled a precise free-kick beyond the Nigerian goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Brighton had shown promise in the opening stages, with experienced Fran Kirby and Japanese winger Kiko Seike causing problems for City’s defence, but they failed to convert their opportunities.
Manchester City’s superior depth proved decisive after the break. Substitute Aoba Fujino extended the lead in the 66th minute after being set up by Shaw, before Dutch star Vivianne Miedema capped the victory with a late fourth goal in the 87th minute.
Despite the heavy defeat, the FA Cup final marked a significant milestone for Brighton, who were appearing in the first major final in the club’s history.
Nnadozie played a key role in the Seagulls’ impressive run to Wembley and their strong finish to the Women’s Super League season.
For Manchester City, the victory sealed a remarkable first season under manager Andree Jeglertz. Having already ended a decade-long wait for a league title, City crowned their campaign with a fourth Women’s FA Cup trophy and their first-ever domestic double.
While the final result was disappointing for Nnadozie and Brighton, the Nigerian goalkeeper can still look back on a memorable debut season in England, one that saw her establish herself as one of the league’s standout goalkeepers and help Brighton reach unprecedented heights.
