Nigerian sprint sensation Kanyinsola Ajayi delivered one of the standout performances of the NCAA East First Round after storming to a brilliant 9.90 seconds in Heat 1 of the men’s 100m.

Sports247 reports that Ajayi looked aggressive and fully committed from the start, attacking the race with confidence and maintaining excellent control throughout the sprint as he powered past the field in impressive fashion.
Unlike previous rounds where athletes sometimes ease off after securing qualification, the Nigerian sprinter maintained his intensity all the way to the finish line, sending a strong statement to the rest of the competition ahead of the next stage.
American athlete Davonte Howell also secured qualification after finishing with 10.09 seconds, while Jaleel Croal advanced as well in 10.18 seconds.
Fellow Nigerian sprinter Joshua Caleb narrowly missed automatic qualification despite producing a personal best performance of 10.20 seconds to finish fourth in the heat.
Ajayi’s remarkable 9.90s performance further strengthens his growing reputation as one of the fastest collegiate sprinters this season and continues Nigeria’s impressive showing at the NCAA championships.
The talented sprinter will now head into the next round full of confidence as he aims to challenge for top honours against some of the best young athletes in the United States.
