Former Nigeria international Loveday Omoruyi has praised the recent performances of the Super Eagles but insists the team still needs to improve certain areas ahead of the international friendly against Poland.

Speaking before the encounter, Omoruyi admitted he has been encouraged by the progress shown by the national team in recent matches.
“I’ve been impressed with the recent performances of the Super Eagles,” Omoruyi said.
According to the former Nigerian international, one of his biggest concerns remains the team’s ability to properly manage and finish games strongly.
“The team needs to close out matches better,” he implied.
Omoruyi also pointed out the lack of enough wing play within the team’s attacking structure.
“They need to make better use of the width of the pitch,” he noted.
The former player stressed that effective wing play could help Nigeria create more chances and become more dangerous offensively.
“Using the wide areas more will improve the attack,” he added.
Nigeria heads into the Poland friendly after recently retaining the Unity Cup title under coach Eric Chelle.
“The team is improving gradually but still has areas to fix,” many football observers believe.
The Super Eagles continue rebuilding ahead of future competitive fixtures with several new players recently introduced into the squad.
“There is clear progress, but consistency remains important,” supporters continue to say.
For Loveday Omoruyi, the message is clear.
