Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that “the main battleground today is the economic war” in the ongoing conflict with the US and Israel.
“After failing to achieve its objectives on the military front, the enemy has focused on damaging the country’s economic resilience and disrupting the livelihoods of the people,” the president added in comments carried by Tasnim news agency.
Pezeshkian met with members of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, and said he urged a boost to Iran’s economy from the private sector to protect the country’s “economic foundation” and increase its “national power in the face of external pressures and threats”.
