Pedro danger subsides

Fabrizio Romano has once again reiterated that there is no chance of Chelsea forward Joao Pedro joining Barcelona this summer, following reports that Deco returned to England for fresh talks with the Brazilian.

While the Blaugrana director remains keen on Pedro, the main purpose of his new trip to London was actually to hold talks over Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, who is now a major target for the Catalan club.

Barcelona appear ready to give up on Pedro, with Chelsea having made it unequivocally clear that he is not for sale this summer. Gordon, on the other hand, could now be on his way to Spain, with the England winger said to be keen on the move to Barcelona.

Jorgensen demands to leave

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has once again requested to leave the club, according to the BBC.

The Denmark international already wanted to depart Chelsea in January, but the club refused to grant his request, insisting that they did not want any mid-season upheaval in the goalkeeper department. Jorgensen is now once again pushing to leave.

The shot-stopper is set to be relegated to third-choice this summer when Mike Penders arrives at Stamford Bridge following his loan at Strasbourg. The Belgian is expected to be named the club’s new No.1.

Palmer back to City?

A return of Cole Palmer to Man City is a “possibility,” eSPORTY reports.

The Cityzens were made to regret selling the England star in 2023 and are said to be interested in bringing him back, with reports in recent months claiming that Palmer would be keen on a return to Manchester.

Man Utd have also been linked with Palmer, but he recently insisted that he was happy to stay at Chelsea. Either way, the Blues have no intention of sanctioning an exit of the playmaker.

Fernandez pushing to leave

Enzo Fernandez is actively looking to leave Chelsea after the club’s failure to qualify for Europe, as per Ben Jacobs.

The Argentine is gunning for a move to Real Madrid, and his agent has already made contact with the LaLiga giants. Man City, meanwhile, appear an unlikely destination as things stand.

Chelsea want a quick resolution to this saga, but they have slapped a whopping €138m asking price on his head. Fernandez is no longer engaging in contract talks with the Blues.

Jacquet confirms Chelsea snub

Stade Rennais wonderkid Jeremy Jacquet has confirmed that he turned down a move to Chelsea in January.

The Blues looked poised to wrap up a deal for the French defender for weeks in the winter, but it was ultimately Liverpool who managed to swoop in and snap up Jacquet, who will link up with the Reds this summer.

Speaking to Ouest-France, Jacquet revealed that he rejected a move to Chelsea because of the number of defenders currently at Stamford Bridge. “I won’t say it was a quick decision, because I took my time with this big step,” he said. “But I quickly saw myself at Liverpool.

“At Chelsea, I felt there were quite a lot of people. Whereas at Liverpool, apart from the fact that [Virgil] van Dijk is nearing the end of his career, training with him is going to be huge. He’s going to teach me so much.”
