Fast-rising Nigerian-born heavyweight boxer, Moses Itauma will step into the ring on August 8th against the highly-fearsome Filip Hrgovic, who pulled off a stunning win against Great Britain’s Dave Allen last weekend.

Sports247 gathered that, with Moses already tipped to become the youngest heavyweight boxing champion of the world in history, his promoter, George Warren is in a hurry to get the best and toughest fights lined up for the lad.
Warren previously confirmed that Itauma’s next fight will headline a Queensberry show on August 8th at London’s O2 Arena and it now appears that Hrgovic is the frontrunner to stand across the ring opposite the Nigerian-born global contender.
Consequently, the 21-year-old lad with a Nigerian mother and dad from Grenada is set to fight Croatia’s Hrgovic, who stopped Allen after three one-sided rounds on Saturday at Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster, England.
Following the win, Hrgovic, who previously got decision victories over Joe Joyce and David Adeleye in back-to-back fights last year, confirmed his readiness to proceed with a fight against Itauma in the summer.
Warren quickly accepted the challenge, saying: “That fight’s there. It’s done. Moses is booked for August. As soon as we’re back in the office next week, that’s my job to try and get that fight made and get it announced.”
Sports247 gathered further that Hrgovic is ranked in the heavyweight top 10 by all four of boxing’s major governing bodies, after the Croatian put together three wins since losing his IBF interim title and unbeaten record to Daniel Dubois in 2024.
