Warriors of Zimbabwe captain Marvelous Nakamba has said the moral of he and his teammates is high, as they prepare to face Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2026 Unity Cup in London on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles will take on Zimbabwe in the first semi-final of this year’s Unity Cup.
A win for either the Super Eagles or Zimbabwe will see them progress to the final to face India or Jamaica.
The last time the Super Eagles faced Zimbabwe was match-day Six of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Uyo which ended 1-1.
In the reverse fixture in Kigali, a strike by Kelechi Iheanacho saw the Eagles force the Warriors to a 1-1 draw.
Now both sides will face off in London to see who will advance to the final.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s encounter Nakamba, who featured for Championship club Sheffield Wednesday last season, said they are looking forward to the tie.

“We’ve been preparing well for the match tomorrow against Nigeria,” Nakamba said in a short video interview on Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) X handle.
“I think everyone is pushing each other in training, the moral is high so we are looking up to the game and hopefully all Zimbabweans will come out in there numbers to support us.”
On the role he and other experience stars are playing to help the young ones in their squad, Nakamba said:”Aside from me we have other experience players in the squad and we are trying to help the young ones focus especially the new ones who are coming in for the first time.
“We are encouraging them to keep the focus high, concentrate and take their chances and embrace the opportunities they are getting to represent the country.”
