Osula’s Strike Against Man United Nominated For EPL Goal Of The Season

Newcastle United’s Danish-born Nigerian forward William Osula’s superb strike against Manchester United has been nominated for Premier League Goal of the Season award.

Osula was shortlisted alongside nine other nominees for the award today (Monday).

The other nine nominees are Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool), Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal), Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa), Tyler Adams (Sunderland) and Harrison Reed (Fulham).

Also included are Dominic Solanke (Tottenham Hotspur), Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) and Valentin Castellanos (West Ham).

Already deep in stoppage time and with the game tied at 1-1, Osula won the game for 10-man Newcastle with a brilliant left-foot strike.

The Danish youth international ran on to a long pass on the right wing, raced towards goal, did a couple of step overs to get past two United defenders before curling the ball into the far corner.

Osula’s strike against United also won Premier League March 2026’s Goal of the Month award.

The 22-year-old became the first Newcastle player to win the award in the just concluded season, and the first since Alexander Isak in December 2024.
