Man Utd make ‘discreet enquiry’ made over Williams

Manchester United are one of four Premier League clubs who have made a “discreet enquiry” to understand the possibility of signing Neco Williams this summer.

The Nottingham Forest full-back has been one of the club’s standout performers so far this season and his form has attracted interest from several English top flight rivals, as per a report from BBC Sport reporter Sami Mokbel.

It’s claimed that Aston Villa, Everton, Man Utd and Newcastle United have all made “discreet enquiries” about the 25-year-old as they look to pursue a deal during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Williams still has three years remaining on his current deal at the City Ground but Vitor Pereira’s side have reportedly opened talks with the Wales international over a contract extension ahead of this summer as they have no plans to cash in on the defender.

PSG enter Alvarez talks

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered talks to sign Julian Alvarez this summer from under the noses of Arsenal.

Alvarez is believed to be among Arsenal’s top transfer targets this summer, with Atletico Madrid likely to hold out for around €100 million for their talismanic striker.

However, AS in Spain report that PSG have set ‘wheels in motion’ to sign Alvarez, with Luis Enrique ‘desperate’ to have the Argentine star in his team.

While Arsenal are still pursuing Alvarez, PSG believe they can financially outmuscle the Gunners with an offer around €140-150m, making them the frontrunners for his signature in such a case.

Chelsea’s Scott transfer discussions ‘ramping up’

Chelsea are stepping up their chase for Alex Scott this summer, with the Bournemouth midfielder becoming a ‘serious option’ to be signed this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

Scott is also wanted by Manchester United, with Michael Carrick said to have a ‘deep affection’ for a player that is in with a real chance of being named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

But Chelsea are ‘increasingly active’ in the race and talks over a potential summer deal are ‘ramping up’ after internal discussions and a series of scouting missions over Scott in recent weeks.

Scott is viewed internally as a player who ‘ticks a lot of boxes’ in terms of age profile, Premier League experience, technical quality and long-term potential, with discussions underway to try and beat the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle to his signature.

Man Utd and Chelsea battle for La Liga star

Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be closely monitoring the situation of Real Sociedad winger Ander Barrenetxea ahead of a potential summer move.

The 24-year-old has been a star player on the wing for La Real and made his debut for Spain earlier this year as well as being included in the provisional squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Barrenetxea’s progress has prompted interest from a number of sides including United and Chelsea, with MARCA claiming that the Spaniard is on the shortlist of both clubs.

With four years remaining on his contract, Barrenetxea is unlikely to come cheap , having scored three goals and provided three assists in La Liga this season.
