Liverpool are prepared to spend up to €86million (£75m) to sign highly-rated RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer, according to The i Paper.
The Reds are believed to be running the rule over a number of targets as they look to replace Mohamed Salah at the end of the season.
Salah, who is third on the club’s all-time top scorers’ list with 257 goals, will bring his legendary Anfield career to a close when his side entertain Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season (Sunday, 24 May).
One man who is being strongly linked with replacing Salah is Ivory Coast forward Diomande, who has been extensively scouted by the Liverpool hierarchy, according to The Athletic.
Leipzig star Diomande has established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in the world this season, having scored 12 goals and recorded six assists in the Bundesliga.
And now The i Paper understands that Liverpool are willing to spend big to land the 19-year-old this summer, in a plot to get club-record signing Alexander Isak firing next season.
Isak has endured a difficult first season with the Merseysiders following his €143m (£125m) British record transfer last summer, scoring just four goals in 22 games, though the Sweden international has been unfortunate with injuries.
The i Paper claim Liverpool are looking to provide Isak with a reliable source of creativity in 2026-27, in the same way that the forward benefitted from playing alongside Jacob Murphy at Newcastle United.
However, the same outlet understands Liverpool also hold interest in Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, as well as Diomande’s Leipzig team-mate Antonio Nusa.
It also remains to be seen whether €86m (£75m) would be enough to prize Diomande away from Leipzig, with The Athletic having reported that the German side value the winger at €97m (£85m).
A separate report from French publication L’Equipe claims Liverpool are also interested in Monaco’s right-sided attacker Maghnes Akliouche, who has a reported price tag of €50m (£43m).
As Liverpool continue to scour the market for new additions, Arne Slot’s side are hoping to move one step closer to securing Champions League football for next season when they travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League today.
Analysis: Chelsea also reportedly keen on landing Leipzig star Diomande
Liverpool are not the only Premier League club who reportedly hold an interest in signing Diomande, with the winger also being linked with a summer switch to Chelsea.
And when asked about those links to Chelsea, Diomande recently told The Athletic: “Imagine people say you go to Chelsea or Real Madrid [as examples of big clubs] to do this job… you’re going to be happy and motivated to do more.
“I don’t think about it too much because my focus is on the pitch, my job is playing football, that takes care of everything. But it gives me a lot of motivation to see people talking about me.”
