Disasi reveals ‘bomb squad’ life at Chelsea

Axel Disasi has opened up over life in Chelsea’s bomb squad, with the defender facing a similar situation if he returns to Stamford Bridge after his loan at West Ham.

“Every week someone else left,” Disasi told Canal+. “In the beginning there were a lot of us. Sterling and I were the ones who stayed. There was Lesley Ugochukwu, there was Joao Felix, Renato Veiga, there was [Ben] Chilwell. We trained with the loan players.

“The following day you could come in and it was, ‘Him, where is he?’, ’He’s found his club’. Him, where is he?’, ‘He’s found his club’. To the point where it was Raheem and me there, like this,” Disasi said while looking around. “We two were the only ones left.

“I remember, I would wake up and be like this. ‘Right, then, what am I going to do today? I don’t have training, no match to prepare for.’ You start to sleep late, to eat a bit badly. You drift.”

Diomande ‘happy and motivated’ over Chelsea links

RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande has admitted that he would be “happy and motivated” if he joined Premier League giants Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast winger, 19, has been in sublime form since arriving at Leipzig from Leganes last summer and he has emerged as a transfer target for a plethora of elite clubs across Europe.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Diomande was asked how he feels about transfer speculation linking him with the biggest clubs in Europe. “Of course, if you imagine someone saying you have to go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job, you’re going to be happy and motivated to do more,” he admitted (via BuliNews).

“But I don’t think about this kind of thing because I’m trying to be focused on the pitch. Because my job is playing football, I leave everything else outside the pitch. It gives me a lot of motivation to see clubs speak about me. I’m focused.”

Alonso ‘frontrunner’ for Chelsea job

Xabi Alonso is considered the ‘frontrunner’ to become the new Chelsea manager, with talks said to be making ‘positive progress’ in recent days.

The likes of Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva have also reportedly been contacted by Chelsea and they feature highly on the club’s shortlist, thought to contain at least five candidates, but The Times report that Alonso appears to be the ‘standout candidate’.

Initial contacts with Alonso and his representatives were ‘received positively’ even with Chelsea looking likely to miss out on qualifying for the Champions League next season.

However, Alonso is seeking assurances about the role, with Chelsea’s BlueCo owners already looking for their sixth permanent manager since their takeover in 2022.

Scott transfer discussions ‘ramping up’

Chelsea are stepping up their chase for Alex Scott this summer, with the Bournemouth midfielder becoming a ‘serious option’ to be signed this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

Scott is also wanted by Manchester United, with Michael Carrick said to have a ‘deep affection’ for a player that is in with a real chance of being named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

But Chelsea are ‘increasingly active’ in the race and talks over a potential summer deal are ‘ramping up’ after internal discussions and a series of scouting missions over Scott in recent weeks.

Scott is viewed internally as a player who ‘ticks a lot of boxes’ in terms of age profile, Premier League experience, technical quality and long-term potential, with discussions underway to try and beat the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle to his signature.
