All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Junior Kroupi, Morten Hjulmand and Julian Alvarez.
Bournemouth rule out Kroupi sale
Bournemouth chief Tiago Pinto has insisted that sought-after forward Eli Junior Kroupi will not be sold during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kroupi, 19, has enjoyed an excellent debut campaign at the Vitality Stadium and he has emerged as a target for several top European clubs in recent weeks, including Arsenal.
However, the Cherries’ Head of Football Operations told Saudi Arabian publication 365scores: “Junior Kroupi will not be leaving the club. His contract is for more than four years, there is no release clause in the contract, and he will not be going anywhere.
“We will not sell Kroupi even if we receive offers of €100m.”
Arsenal interested in Mateus Fernandes
Arsenal are interested in a move for Mateus Fernandes but Manchester United have emerged as frontrunners to sign the West Ham star.
Fernandes has attracted strong interest after an impressive debut campaign for the Hammers in which he has been nominated for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award.
Reports surfaced this week of Paris Saint-Germain entering the race to sign Fernandes and The Times have revealed that Arsenal are also interested in a potential transfer for the 21-year-old.
However, according to TEAMtalk, United may prove the strongest suitors for Fernandes after making contact with the player’s representatives, with both sides ‘very keen’ on each other.
PSG enter Alvarez talks
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered talks to sign Julian Alvarez this summer from under the noses of Arsenal.
Alvarez is believed to be among Arsenal’s top transfer targets this summer, with Atletico Madrid likely to hold out for around €100 million for their talismanic striker.
However, AS in Spain report that PSG have set ‘wheels in motion’ to sign Alvarez, with Luis Enrique ‘desperate’ to have the Argentine star in his team.
While Arsenal are still pursuing Alvarez, PSG believe they can financially outmuscle the Gunners with an offer around €140-150m, making them the frontrunners for his signature in such a case.
Arsenal to battle Man Utd for Hjulmand
Arsenal are reportedly battling Manchester United to sign Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
Hjulmand could be available for €40m which has alerted the likes of United, Arsenal and Manchester City, according to reports in Portugal.
The Danish international is not believed to be at the top of the shortlist for any of the clubs but he is open to an exit from Sporting which could help facilitate his departure.
Hjulmand is also an Arsenal fan and has a tattoo of the Gunners on his shoulder, lending support to the idea that he may push for a move to the Emirates.
