A determined father has sparked controversy online after he was seen snatching a t-shirt from a woman at a rodeo in California to give to his young daughter.
In a clip which has gone viral on social media, Atascadero real estate broker Marco Caracas is captured by his wife Amelia leaning over the woman and grabbing the t-shirt as it’s thrown towards her in the crowd at SLO County Sheriff’s Rodeo in Paso Robles.
He then walks across and hands it to his daughter with a big grin on his face, before heading back to the woman and giving her an apologetic pat on the shoulder as she seemingly makes her frustration known.
Amelia, who added text over the video which reads ‘Daddy will you catch me a shirt’, played Jennifer Hart’s 2022 song ‘Half the Man’ alongside the clip, meaning it is unclear what was said between them.
However, she also wrote as the caption: ‘This ended with our daughter giving the shirt to the lady but man, the great lengths this man will go for his girls.’
Marco’s antics have divided the internet, with some arguing that he had no right to leap in front of the woman and take the t-shirt from her.

‘Yea let’s just snatch something away from someone, that was clearly thrown at that certain someone, who is not you,’ one user posted in the Instagram comments.
Another said: ‘I would have been disappointed in my dad to treat a lady like that. I Wouldn’t even want the shirt anymore.’
‘Daddy teaching his kid the wrong lesson,’ a third concluded.
While one went as far as to say: ‘This is embarrassing’.
Yet others came to Marco’s defense over the viral moment, instead stressing that doing the best thing for his daughter was all that mattered.
‘Personally I see a man doing whatever to please his baby girl who cares what a stranger thinks,’ one person countered.
Another argued: ‘All yall crying don’t understand father hood. When it comes to your baby boy or girl you do whatever to make them happy no matter what. The lil girl deserved the shirt more than the lady.’
‘I’d kill for my child. Snatching an air cannon tshirt out the air (not from someone’s hands) is a no brainer. Don’t be soft,’ a third said.
While another user put: ‘People thinking the woman is entitled to a shirt being thrown into a crowd is wild.’
