Prospective Arsenal parade date set to cause fan frustrations after Champions League final travel nightmare
Arsenal have already begun preparations for a potential trophy parade at the end of the season. Upon reaching the UEFA Champions League final, the Gunners will indeed extend their season beyond the final date of the Premier League season.
Mikel Arteta’s side travel to Crystal Palace on the final day of the domestic calendar, Sunday, 24 May. They hope to either lift the league trophy here or potentially the Monday before against Burnley. However, this will require Manchester City dropping points against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium, while Arsenal beat West Ham United this weekend.
If successful, Arsenal would not host a parade on Monday, May 25, due to their participation in the European Cup final. Whether or not they win the Champions League on May 30, football.london understands that a parade is likely to go ahead on Sunday, May 31.

With players due to attend their respective World Cup squads, there is pressure for any parade not to eat too much into national team plans. There is, however, a downside for some supporters.
Those who will make the trip to Hungary to watch the final, or just be in the city of Budapest for the historic clash, could struggle to make it back in time for any potential parade. Flights have already proven both challenging and expensive to book, with the Champions League final having been set many months ago, and many flights pre-booked, while prices were lower by fans of other clubs hoping to make the trip.
Unless supporters in Budapest have secured early flights back to London, it appears many are set to miss out on the celebrations in north London. With the final kicking off at 18:00 (CEST), the team will be able to travel back in the aftermath of the result and make the roughly two-hour return flight to London.
The official route of the parade is yet to be decided, but previous iterations have typically taken routes around the Drayton Park station area, onto Aubert Park, through St Paul’s Road and toward Islington Town Hall. While other plans, such as with the 2019 Europa League final, which never went ahead after Chelsea won, were smaller, using Gillespie Road and Highbury Park.
