It was some of the lesser-known names who stole the spotlight on Day 1 of last year’s tournament, with Jhonattan Vegas, Cam Davis and Ryan Gerard leading the way at 7-under, 5-under and 5-under respectively.

However, they’re not expected to replicate that success this time around. Vegas is a distant 150/1 to be leading after the opening round, while Gerard can be backed at 100/1.

Instead, attention turns to reigning champion Scottie Scheffler, who finished 2-under after round one last year and is fancied to make a stronger start this time. The American is Sky Bet’s 14/1 favourite to be leading after Day 1.
