Arsenal have been sent a positive Premier League title race verdict by Gary Lineker, though Micah Richards is still backing Manchester City
Micah Richards has disagreed with Gary Lineker that the Premier League title race is done. Arsenal moved to within touching distance of the trophy with victory over West Ham on Sunday while Manchester City beat Brentford and close the gap down to just two points next Wednesday against Crystal Palace
Though Pep Guardiola’s side can still overtake the Gunners, they are running out of time with Lineker of the belief Mikel Arteta and his players will get the job done, but Richards is optimistic there will be one more twist.
Lineker said on the latest episode of ‘The Rest Is Football’ podcast: “It’s hard to see them slipping up now. Burnley at home, who are already relegated and then Crystal Palace away, who will have shortly after that, the Conference League final. So it’s worked out really well for Arsenal.”
Richards then jumped in and said: “It’s not over yet. I don’t believe the title race is over yet, Gaz. I just think there’s another twist.”

Lineker replied: “I’m not so sure. I always thought that [game vs West Ham] was going to be the hard one. They’ve come off the back of a huge night midweek [against Atletico Madrid] which you have to take into account, to a degree.
“Playing against a team fighting for their lives showing significant improvement in the second half of the season, albeit their last result was a poor one. So, that was always the big test.
