Fans evacuated from 50,000-seater football stadium as FIRE breaks out during top-flight European game

Sweden’s national stadium had to be evacuated mid-match after a raging fire broke out, sending smoke billowing around the stands.

AIK welcomed Djurgardens in the early-season clash at the 50,000-capacity Strawberry Arena on Sunday.

But play was stopped on 25 minutes after the blaze broke out and firefighters rushed to the scene to douse the flames.

The players remained on the pitch rather than heading to the dressing rooms and authorities confirmed that the fire was extinguished with nobody getting hurt.
