Former Arsenal of England youth team player, Chuba Amechi Akpom has been granted a three-year extended contract at Ipswich Town, following his contributions in their successful promotion back to the English Premier League.
Akpom, who has played for Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Brighton and Middlesbrough, is enjoying a new lease of life, after two unsuccessful spells at Ajax Amsterdam of Netherlands and Lille Metropole of France.

The badging striker, who has indicated interest in playing for Nigeria, but is yet to be invited to the Super Eagles, will now aim to extend his favours further in the EPL, as Ipswich have turned his initial loan move into a full transfer.
The 30-year-old forward, who played 29 games and scored two goals in The Tractor Boys’ promotion campaign from the Championship, will finalise the deal on July 1st, following his fulfilment of appearances-related criteria.
Akpom’s next target is to excel in the EPL, after helping Ipswich achieve an immediate return to the top-flight with victory over Queens Park Rangers, to finish behind Frank Onyeka’s Coventry City in the second automatic promotion spot.
It will be a huge revival point for Akpom, who has also previously played for Sint-Truiden of Belgium and joined PAOK Saloniki of Greece in 2018, then scored their winning goal in the 2019 Greek Cup final, to complete a domestic double.
The barrel-chested hitman, who in 2019 announced his intention to represent Nigeria national at senior level, moved to Middlesbrough in 2020 and signed for Ajax in 2023, then joined Lille on loan the following year.
