Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will face PSG in the Champions League final on May 30th after the French giants managed to get past Bayern Munich
Arsenal Champions League hero Bukayo Saka has had his wish granted with the Gunners facing Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the competition. The French side came out as 5-6 aggregate winners over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Arsenal booked their place in the showpiece finale thanks to a 2-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid 24 hours earlier. Bukayo Saka scored the goal that secured their place.
The full-time whistle prompted celebrations around the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal reached the final for the first time in 20 years. The squad would have been watching the second leg of the other semi-final with interest as they waited to discover their opponents.

When asked on CBS Sports on Tuesday night who he would like to face in the final, Saka said: “Come on, man… you can’t ask me that. I’d have to give a media-trained answer.”
When pushed further, he added: “You know deep down who we’d want to face in the final.”
While the answer was cryptic, it has led fans to speculate that he means PSG, with Arsenal seeking revenge.
The French club knocked Arsenal out of the competition at the semi-final stage this time last year, winning 3-1 on aggregate.
It was PSG who held a slight advantage going into the second leg against Bayern at the Allianz Arena, having won a memorable first leg 4-5.
They stretched their advantage in just the third minute when Ousmane Dembele made it 1-0 to PSG on the night and 4-6 on aggregate.
After taking the lead, the French giants defended resolutely to keep the likes of Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz out and quieten a loud home crowd.
Kane did, however, find a late lifeline for Bayern in added time, making the score 5-6 on aggregate. But it proved to be too late for the German club to find an equaliser.
Their progress means that PSG go into a second successive Champions League final. Luis Enrique’s side won the competition for the first time last year, coming out as 5-0 winners over Inter.
The final between Arsenal and PSG will take place at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday, 30 May (5pm kick-off).
