Ozebagbe Eyes Bigger Milestones After Ikorodu City’s LSFA Cup Triumph as Grand Finale Draws Out Lagos’ Palace White Cap Chiefs

Ikorodu City head coach Bright Ozebagbe has set his sights on greater accomplishments after guiding his side to victory in the 2026 Lagos State FA Cup, describing the triumph as a steppingstone toward sustained success.

Reflecting on the achievement, Ozebagbe expressed pride in his team’s journey while stressing that the club’s ambitions extend far beyond the current milestone.

“When I think of the goodness of Jesus… Champions, Lagos State FA Cup,” he said.

“Another trophy added to the collection and a proud reminder of how far this team has come through hard work, consistency, and belief.

This is only the beginning, there are more milestones ahead and more history to be made.”

Ikorodu City secured the title with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over G12 FC in the men’s final.

Tosin Ojedokun proved the difference-maker, netting the decisive second-half goal to cap an impressive campaign that showcased the depth and competitiveness of grassroots football in Lagos.

In the women’s final, FC Robo Queens delivered a dominant performance, cruising to a 4–0 win against Ghetto Tigers Ladies to underline their superiority.

The finals drew a blend of sporting, cultural, and political dignitaries, including the traditional White Cap Chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Lagos.

Also present were Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa and other key stakeholders in the state’s sports ecosystem.

The Lagos State Football Association commended Cloud Sports for broadcasting the matches to a wider audience, enhancing the tournament’s reach both locally and internationally.

Ceremonial kickoff duties were performed by Seyi Akinwunmi alongside Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, while Mobolaji Ogunlende presented the trophies to the winners.

Following the successful conclusion of the tournament, the LSFA reiterated its commitment to grassroots football development, talent discovery, and youth empowerment, while congratulating Ikorodu City and FC Robo Queens on their well-earned triumphs.
